The [Connect for ArcGIS Relay Service](https://bgt-innovation.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/GC1/pages/4172546173) is an optional component that allows Connect for ArcGIS to access systems running behind your firewall. Install the relay service inside your secure environment to act as a proxy for requests between your business systems and the Connect for ArcGIS servers.

The Connect for ArcGIS Relay Service opens up a secure web socket to the Connect for ArcGIS server, allowing queries to be passed to systems running within your firewall.
