This article describes how to configure a custom domain for your Managed Experience Builder subscription.

Once configured, all deployed applications within the subscription will be accessible using your custom domain.

For information about custom domains and how they work, see [About Custom Domains](https://bgt-innovation.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/WC/pages/4538335304).

## Before You Begin

Ensure that:

- You have permission to create DNS records for the domain you intend to use.
- The chosen subdomain is not already being used by another service.

## Step 1 – Open the Custom Domain Settings

From My Extensions, locate your Managed Experience Builder subscription.

Expand the subscription details using the arrow button.

Locate the Custom Domain section.

Enter the custom domain you would like to use.

Example:

`experience.company.com`

Select **Enable custom domain**.

## Step 2 – Create the Domain Verification Record

After enabling the domain, Managed Experience Builder generates a **TXT record** used to verify ownership of the domain.

Create the TXT record in your DNS provider exactly as shown.

Example:

| **Type** | **Name** | **Value** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| TXT | `_verify.experience.company.com` | `cartinuum-extensions-verification=xxxxx` |

Your values will be different.

## Step 3 – Create the Domain Routing Record

The same screen also displays a **CNAME record**.

Create this record in your DNS provider.

This record routes traffic from your custom domain to the Managed Experience Builder hosting platform.

Example:

| **Type** | **Name** | **Value** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| CNAME | `experience.company.com` | `xxxxxxxxx.cloudfront.net` |

Your values will be different.

## Step 4 – Verify DNS Configuration

After creating both DNS records:

1. Return to the Custom Domain screen.
2. Select Refresh Status.

The platform will check whether the TXT and CNAME records are visible.

While DNS changes are propagating, the status will display:

Waiting for DNS Verification

No further action is required during this stage.

## Step 5 – Wait for Domain Activation

Once both DNS records have been successfully verified, the status changes to:

**Activating Your Domain**

![image-20260619-044606.png](media://a4270f91-45e2-4a21-9378-f5a1b1f9379a)

During activation, Managed Experience Builder:

- Provisions SSL certificates
- Configures routing
- Activates the domain

No action is required while activation is in progress.

## Step 6 – Confirm the Domain is Active

When setup is complete, the status changes to:

**Active**

Your custom domain is now ready to use.

## Step 7 – Test Your Domain

Open the Managed Experience Builder control page.

Locate one of your deployed applications and select **Open App**.

The application should now open using your custom domain.

Example:

If the application opens successfully, the custom domain configuration is complete.
