[The Imagery Wayback for Nearmap](https://extensions.cartinuum.com/product/imagery-wayback-for-nearmap/) widget brings [Nearmap](https://www.nearmap.com)<sup>[TM](https://www.nearmap.com)</sup> imagery into an ArcGIS Experience Builder app so users can view and compare imagery from different capture dates.

Use this widget when your organisation uses Nearmap imagery and wants users to browse temporal imagery directly in an Experience Builder app.

## What this widget does

Imagery Wayback for Nearmap connects an Experience Builder map to Nearmap imagery services. Users can choose available imagery dates, adjust display options, and optionally compare imagery using swipe view if enabled.

Use Imagery Wayback for Nearmap when users need to:

- View Nearmap imagery in an Experience Builder app.
- Compare imagery across capture dates.
- Use a compact imagery selector.
- Overlay a reference layer.
- Control imagery opacity.
- Remove imagery when the widget is closed.

## Requirements

- [ArcGIS Experience Builder 1.14 or later.](https://developers.arcgis.com/experience-builder/guide/release-versions/)
- A Map widget in the Experience Builder app.
- A Nearmap API key linked to your Nearmap subscription.
- A valid Cartinuum widget license.
- A web map that uses Web Mercator (EPSG:3857) projection.

## Before you begin

Before configuring Wayback for Nearmap:

1. Add a Map widget to your Experience Builder app.
2. Obtain the Nearmap API key for your organisation.
3. Decide whether users should use mini mode, full mode, swipe view, or a reference layer.
4. Install or enable the widget using the standard widget installation process.

## Add Wayback for Nearmap to an app

1. Open your app in ArcGIS Experience Builder.
2. Add the Wayback for Nearmap widget to the page.
3. Open the widget settings.
4. Add the widget license.
5. Select the Map widget.
6. Enter the Nearmap API key.
7. Configure imagery opacity and display options.
8. Save and publish the Experience Builder app.

## Configure the widget

| Setting | What it controls |
| --- | --- |
| Map settings | The Map widget used by the Nearmap imagery layer. |
| Nearmap API Key | The API key used to access Nearmap imagery. |
| Map opacity | The opacity of the Nearmap imagery layer. |
| Use Mini Widget | Displays a compact dropdown-style interface. |
| Show Reference Layer | Displays a reference layer above imagery. |
| Enable Swipe View | Allows imagery comparison with a swipe interface. |
| Remove Imagery On Close | Removes the imagery layer when the widget closes. |
| Activate On Load | Activates the Nearmap layer when the widget loads. Otherwise, the user must open the widget to add the Nearmap layer. |

## Use the widget

1. Open the Experience Builder app.
2. Open Wayback for Nearmap.
3. Select an imagery date.
4. Adjust opacity if available.
5. Use swipe view if the app author has enabled comparison.
6. Close the widget when finished.

## Troubleshooting

### No imagery appears

Check that:

- A Map widget has been selected.
- The Nearmap API key is valid.
- The map location has Nearmap coverage.
- The imagery layer opacity is not set too low.
- The web map is using Web Mercator (EPSG:3857) projection.

### Dates are not available

Check that the selected map location has Nearmap imagery coverage and that the API key can access the expected imagery.

### Swipe view is not available

Enable Swipe View in the widget settings.
