The Imagery Wayback for ArcGIS widget lets users browse temporal imagery from an organisation-owned ImageServer mosaic catalog.

Use this widget when your organisation maintains its own time-enabled imagery catalog and wants users to select imagery by date inside an ArcGIS Experience Builder app.

## What this widget does

Imagery Wayback for ArcGIS connects to an ImageServer backed by a mosaic dataset. App authors select the imagery service, choose the catalog time field, and configure how date rows are listed. Users can then choose a date and display the matching imagery on the map.

## When to use it

Use Imagery Wayback for ArcGIS when users need to:

- Browse organisation-managed imagery by date.
- Select imagery from an ImageServer mosaic catalog.
- Filter available imagery dates by map centre or map extent.
- Compare imagery dates using swipe view.
- Use a compact imagery date selector.
- Apply a catalog WHERE clause to limit available imagery.

## Key features

- ImageServer mosaic catalog support.
- Imagery service picker.
- Configurable time field.
- Optional display label field.
- Optional catalog WHERE clause.
- Date list filtering by no location filter, map centre, or map extent.
- Mini widget mode.
- Optional swipe view.
- English, French, and Spanish translations.

## Requirements

- [ArcGIS Experience Builder 1.14 or later.](https://developers.arcgis.com/experience-builder/guide/release-versions/)
- A Map widget in the Experience Builder app.
- An ImageServer backed by a mosaic dataset.
- Catalog query support on the ImageServer.
- A date-compatible catalog field.

## Limitations

- Tile-only ImageServers without a catalog are not supported.
- Multidimensional time without a tabular date column is not supported.
- External tile APIs such as Esri Wayback or Nearmap are not supported by this widget.

## Troubleshooting

### The imagery service cannot be selected

Check that the service is an ImageServer item available to the signed-in user.

### The service validation fails

Check that:

- The service URL can be resolved.
- The service supports catalog queries.
- The selected item is an ImageServer mosaic imagery layer.

### No time fields are available

Check that the imagery catalog includes a date-compatible field.

### No imagery dates are listed

Check that:

- The time field is selected.
- The catalog WHERE clause is valid.
- The date filter mode is not excluding all imagery.
- Catalog items intersect the current map centre or extent if location filtering is enabled.

### MetroMap shows too many dates

You may need to apply a catalog filter (where clause) when working with MetroMap.

Some users have reported setting the filter to `Category = 1` gives the expected behaviour.
